Affiliate Disclosure
Last Updated: February 25, 2026
CriticNest believes in full transparency. This page explains how we make money, how affiliate links work, and why they never influence our reviews.
How CriticNest Makes Money
CriticNest is a free website. We do not charge readers to access our reviews, comparisons, or guides. We earn revenue primarily through affiliate partnerships. When you click certain links on our site and make a purchase or sign up for a service, we may receive a small commission from the company at no extra cost to you.
This is the standard model for independent review websites. It allows us to keep CriticNest free while continuing to test and review products honestly.
What Are Affiliate Links?
Affiliate links are special URLs that contain a tracking code. When you click one of these links and complete a purchase, the company knows you came from CriticNest and pays us a referral commission. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the company’s website. You are never charged extra for using an affiliate link.
Our Affiliate Partners
CriticNest participates in affiliate programs with the following networks and companies, among others:
- Amazon Associates Program
- ShareASale
- Impact
- CJ Affiliate
- Direct affiliate programs with individual software and technology companies
The specific affiliate programs we participate in may change over time as we review new products and categories.
How We Mark Affiliate Links
You deserve to know when a link is an affiliate link. Here is how we handle disclosure:
- Every article that contains affiliate links includes a disclosure notice at the top of the post.
- Affiliate links are labeled with “(affiliate link)” where practical.
- All affiliate links use
rel="nofollow noopener sponsored"in the HTML, which is the standard recommended by Google. - This page serves as our sitewide disclosure for any affiliate relationship.
Our Editorial Promise
This is the most important section on this page.
Affiliate commissions never influence our ratings, rankings, or recommendations. Period. Here is how we ensure that:
- We buy every tool we review with our own money. We do not accept free access or vendor demos as the basis for a review.
- We test every product for at least 14 days in real-world conditions before writing about it.
- We have published negative reviews of products with high affiliate commissions.
- We have recommended products that offer no affiliate program at all.
- Our editorial process and our revenue process are completely separate. The person writing the review does not consider whether a product has an affiliate program.
- Ratings are based on performance, features, pricing, privacy practices, and real user value. Nothing else.
If we ever feel that an affiliate relationship could compromise our honesty, we will end that relationship. Your trust is worth more than any commission.
Products Without Affiliate Links
Not every product we review has an affiliate program. In those cases, we still review the product with the same standards and depth. We link to the official product website with no tracking code. The absence of an affiliate link does not affect whether we cover a product or how we rate it.
Sponsored Content Policy
CriticNest does not publish sponsored reviews. No company can pay us to write a review, influence a rating, or guarantee favorable coverage. If we ever publish any form of sponsored or partnered content in the future, it will be clearly and prominently labeled as such and will be held to the same editorial standards as all other content.
Your Choice
You are never obligated to use our affiliate links. If you prefer, you can go directly to any product’s website by typing the URL into your browser. We appreciate it when readers use our links because it supports the site, but we respect your choice either way.
Questions?
If you have any questions about our affiliate relationships or how we make money, we are happy to answer them.
