About the reviewer

Ashikur Rahman

Founder and lead reviewer, CriticNest

I am an independent tech analyst who buys, tests, and scores the tools I write about. Every verdict is earned through real use, not rewritten from a feature list. Alongside CriticNest I run the SEO and AI-search consultancy hey-ash.com, and I have worked in search since 2017.

Who I am

A reviewer who deploys tools, not just demos them.

I started CriticNest because most tool reviews are rewritten spec sheets. I take a different route. I sign up and pay like a normal customer, run the product inside real workflows, and only then write a verdict that names the trade-offs as clearly as the strengths.

My background is a little unusual for a tech reviewer. I hold an LLB and an LLM in International Law from the University of Rajshahi, which is why CriticNest goes past feature checklists to actually read the privacy policies, terms of service, and data-compliance claims most reviewers skip. When a security tool or VPN makes a promise, I check whether the legal fine print backs it up.

Alongside CriticNest I run an SEO and AI-search consultancy, hey-ash.com, where I help doctors, lawyers, and local businesses get found in Google and in the AI answers people now trust. That operator experience, running software across hundreds of campaigns in competitive markets, is the lens I bring to every review.

How I review

Every product clears a four-step process before it is published.

No vendor demos, no gifted access, no exceptions. The goal is a verdict you can act on with your own money.

1
Purchase

Real sign-up

I buy the product like any customer. No vendor demos or gifted accounts that quietly skew the experience.

2
Benchmark

Evidence first

Data, screenshots, competitor comparisons, and a legal review of the privacy and terms language.

3
Test 14+ days

Real workflows

Daily use inside live projects for at least two weeks, never a rushed weekend trial.

4
Verdict

Scored on evidence

A transparent 10-point score, every claim backed by what I actually observed.

My point of view
A review in 2026 gets read by an assistant as often as a person. I write verdicts that both a human and an AI can trust, and quote.

Ash, on how buying decisions get made now

People no longer scroll ten links before they buy. They ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google’s AI Overview which tool is best, and act on the two or three it names. Structuring honest, evidence-backed reviews so those systems cite them is the same discipline I sell at hey-ash.com, applied to my own site.

Professional background

Built on YMYL discipline.

Before and alongside CriticNest, I have spent years building and running SEO campaigns for medical practices and personal-injury law firms across all 50 US states, working with plastic surgeons, orthodontists, dentists, dermatologists, and medical spas.

Those are YMYL fields, Your Money or Your Life, where inaccurate content has real consequences and gets held to a higher standard. That same standard shapes CriticNest. Every review is expected to be accurate, transparent, and backed by evidence, the way regulated industries demand.
