TidyCal vs Calendly: $29 Once Against $120 a Year, and What the $29 Leaves Out
Quick answer: TidyCal's $29 lifetime deal is cheaper than Calendly Standard at $10 a seat a month billed yearly, which is $120 a year, but the $29 buys TidyCal's middle tier, not its top. TidyCal's own pricing page sells Pro at $12 a month or $99 a year, and only Pro removes the 1% platform fee on Stripe payments, adds a custom domain and removes TidyCal branding. A consultant who takes payment at booking pays that 1% for as long as the licence lasts: $100 on $10,000 of bookings a year. Calendly Standard includes payments and branding removal in its $120. Prices read on 25 September 2026.
Is the $29 deal the top of TidyCal's own ladder?
No. Most pages ranking for this query treat the $29 licence as "TidyCal" and Calendly's paid plan as "Calendly", then compare the two prices. That comparison is incomplete. TidyCal sells four plans, and the AppSumo deal is the second one up.
TidyCal's pricing page, read on 25 September 2026, lists Free at "$0 Forever free", Individual Lifetime at $29 against a struck $144, Agency Lifetime at $79 against $240, and Pro at "$12 per month" or "$99 per year", with the yearly price marked "-31%". The two Lifetime plans are the AppSumo tiers. Pro is sold by TidyCal directly, as a subscription.
| TidyCal plan | Price read 25 Sep 2026 | Calendar connections | Platform fee on Stripe | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 | 1% | Unlimited bookings and booking types, paid bookings, recurring and package bookings, own booking page, translation |
| Individual Lifetime (AppSumo) | $29 once, list $144 | 10 | 1% | Auto Zoom, Meet and Teams links, group bookings, AI assistant, custom emails, analytics |
| Agency Lifetime (AppSumo) | $79 once, list $240 | 10 | 1% | Round robin, collective meetings, team booking page, SMS reminders in the US and Canada |
| Pro (TidyCal direct) | $12 a month or $99 a year | Unlimited | None | Custom domain, no TidyCal branding, priority support, unlimited SMS reminders, Zapier |
Read the fee column down. Free, Individual and Agency all carry a 1% platform fee on Stripe payments. Pro carries none. Then the calendar column: the lifetime tiers stop at ten connections, and Pro is unlimited. Custom domain, branding removal, unlimited SMS reminders and Zapier sit on the Pro card and nowhere else.
So "TidyCal costs $29 once" is true of a licence that TidyCal itself positions below its own subscription. Whether that matters comes down to one question: do you take payment through the booking page? If not, the fee column is empty for you and the $29 is close to the whole cost. If you do, the fee decides this comparison, and it is worked out below.
What does Calendly charge in September 2026?
Calendly's pricing page, rendered on 25 September 2026, defaults to yearly billing and shows four plans. Free is "Always free" with "One event type" and "One calendar connection". Standard is "$10 /seat/mo" billed yearly. Teams is "$16 /seat/mo" billed yearly. Enterprise "Starts at $15k /yr" and "Starts at 50 seats".
| Calendly plan | Price billed yearly, read 25 Sep 2026 | Event types and calendars | Payments and branding | Team features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | One event type, one calendar connection | Not listed | None listed |
| Standard | $10 a seat a month, $120 a seat a year | Unlimited event types | Payments at booking via Stripe and PayPal, Calendly branding removed | None listed |
| Teams | $16 a seat a month | Unlimited event types | As Standard | Round-robin and team scheduling, lead qualification and routing |
| Enterprise | From $15k a year, from 50 seats | Custom | Custom | Custom |
Two details on that page change the arithmetic. First, the billing toggle. Calendly shows "Save 17%" on Standard and "Save 20%" on Teams for yearly against monthly billing. The monthly dollar figures were not captured when the page was read, so this article does not print them. Budget 17% and 20% more if you will pay month to month.
Second, the seat rule. Calendly's page says "Seats are required for users to connect calendars and host Calendly meetings - meeting invitees do not require a seat." A solo consultant needs one seat. A four-person team needs four, every year.
One absence matters as much as anything listed. Calendly's pricing page does not list SMS reminders on any plan. TidyCal's page lists them on Agency Lifetime, for the US and Canada, and as unlimited on Pro. If text reminders matter to your no-show rate, the Calendly page gives you nothing to compare against. Calendly also sells Notetaker and Callie as paid add-ons on Standard and Teams. Their prices were not read for this article and are not quoted.
How much does the 1% fee cost over a year?
Take a consultant who sells paid sessions through the booking page and collects $10,000 a year through Stripe. TidyCal's platform fee is 1% on Free, Individual Lifetime and Agency Lifetime. One percent of $10,000 is $100 a year. On Pro the fee is none.
Now place the routes side by side. The $29 licence is paid once and then the fee runs: $100 a year at that volume, for as long as you take payment. TidyCal Pro costs $99 a year and the fee stops. Calendly Standard costs $120 a year and includes "Collect payments at booking via Stripe and PayPal" plus branding removal. Calendly's page does not mention a platform fee either way, so this article claims nothing about one.
| Route | Upfront, read 25 Sep 2026 | Recurring each year | Fee on $10,000 of Stripe bookings a year | Branding |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TidyCal Free | $0 | $0 | $100 | Removal is Pro-only |
| TidyCal Individual Lifetime | $29 once | $0 | $100 | Removal is Pro-only |
| TidyCal Pro | $0 | $99 | None | No TidyCal branding, custom domain |
| Calendly Standard, one seat | $0 | $120 | Not mentioned on the pricing page | Calendly branding removed |
Now the three-year view, because a lifetime deal is bought to outlast subscriptions. Calendly Standard for one seat is $360 over three years. TidyCal Pro is $99 a year, $21 less than Calendly Standard each year. The $29 deal is $29 once, then whatever 1% of your Stripe bookings comes to. At $10,000 a year that is $100 a year, so in the first year alone the fee is larger than the licence price.
The decision rule falls out of that. If your paid bookings are small or none, the fee is small or none and the $29 wins outright. If you run real revenue through the booking page, price Pro at $99 a year against Calendly Standard at $120, because the $29 licence is not in that contest. The pages that put it there are comparing a middle tier with a paid plan and calling the gap a saving.
One wording difference deserves a line. The AppSumo deal page describes the Individual tier as including custom booking and branding. TidyCal's pricing page names "no TidyCal branding" only under Pro. The pricing page is the one that names the removal of TidyCal's own branding, so that is the reading used here. If a white-labelled page is the point, confirm it with TidyCal before paying.
Which free plan should most people compare?
Most people searching this query will not pay anyone. For them the comparison is free against free, and it is lopsided. Calendly Free is "One event type" and "One calendar connection". TidyCal Free is one calendar connection too, but the pricing page lists unlimited bookings and booking types, paid bookings, recurring and package bookings, your own booking page and translation, all at "$0 Forever free".
The one-event-type limit is the one that bites. A consultant usually wants at least two meeting types, a short intro call and a longer paid session. On Calendly Free that second type is a $120 a year problem, because unlimited event types start at Standard. On TidyCal Free it costs nothing, with the 1% fee on whatever you charge through Stripe.
Calendly Free is a single link for a single meeting type. TidyCal Free is a working booking page for a solo operator who accepts a 1% fee on Stripe payments. The $29 licence then buys ten calendar connections, automatic meeting links, group bookings, the AI assistant, custom emails and analytics, per the pricing page. It does not buy a way out of the fee.
Transparency note: CriticNest has no affiliate or commercial relationship with TidyCal, Calendly or AppSumo, and has not joined AppSumo's affiliate program as of 25 September 2026. Every link on this page is a plain link with no tracking parameter, and nothing here is a paid placement; if that changes, the disclosure will move to the top of this article. Every price and quotation was read from tidycal.com, appsumo.com and calendly.com on 25 September 2026, and where a page publishes nothing this article says so instead of estimating.
What does a four-person team pay on each?
Teams tilt the arithmetic toward TidyCal by a wide margin, fee or no fee. Calendly Teams is "$16 /seat/mo" billed yearly. Four seats is $16 x 4 x 12 = $768 a year. TidyCal Agency Lifetime is $79 once, and the AppSumo deal page lists 4 team members on that tier.
What each buys for a team is closer than the prices suggest. Calendly Teams adds "Round-robin & team scheduling" and "Qualify, route, & schedule leads". TidyCal Agency adds round robin, collective meetings and a team booking page, plus SMS reminders in the US and Canada, per the pricing page. Lead qualification and routing appear on Calendly's card and not on TidyCal's. If that is the feature you are buying, the $768 is paying for something the $79 does not list.
The 1% fee still applies on Agency Lifetime. Calendly Enterprise, at "Starts at $15k /yr" and "Starts at 50 seats", is a different market and is not compared here.
What does the AppSumo deal page add to the picture?
The TidyCal deal page on AppSumo, read on 25 September 2026, shows two tiers: Individual at $29 against a $144 list, and Agency at $79 against $240. The pitch line reads "Book clients, sell packages, collect payments, and build your brand with one scheduling tool." Payments run through Stripe or PayPal at booking.
Three lines on that page matter more than the pitch. The rating is 4.34 stars from 929 reviews, a large sample for an AppSumo listing. The badge is AppSumo Original, which the Originals pages define as "Created and developed by AppSumo for entrepreneurs everywhere". And the refund line is a sixty-day money-back guarantee.
The Original badge changes how you read the shutdown risk: TidyCal is built by the marketplace that sells it, not by an outside vendor. That does not make it permanent, and this article does not claim it is. AppSumo's refund policy says "unredeemed or unused tools cannot be refunded outside our refund window", so redeem the code the day you buy and run your real booking types inside the sixty days. The full refund and shutdown terms, and how the badge tiers differ, are covered in whether AppSumo is legit and what its refund terms actually say.
AppSumo Plus members get "10% off every order, automatically", per the Plus page. Whether the membership fee earns itself back is worked out in the AppSumo Plus break-even; a single $29 purchase does not get there.
One more thing on the deal side. AppSumo's "Best Calendly Alternatives" collection lists five entries: TidyCal at $29, TimeTuna at $49 (list $199, 4.86 stars from 7 reviews), kiwilaunch at $59 (list $936, 4.62 from 48 reviews), and then ElkQR and Dashform, which are not schedulers at all. Read it as a list of tags, not a shortlist.
How deep do the integrations go on each tier?
This is where TidyCal's two pages disagree with each other, and you should know it before buying. The pricing page puts automatic Zoom, Meet and Teams links on Individual Lifetime. The AppSumo deal page lists Individual with basic integrations, Google, Office 365 and iCal, and puts advanced integrations, Zoom and Teams, on Agency. Both pages were read on 25 September 2026. Which one governs your licence is a question for TidyCal's support, and this article does not resolve it.
What both pages agree on: Zapier is Pro-only. The Pro card on the pricing page reads "Advanced: adds Zoom, Teams, Zapier". So if a booking needs to fire an automation, the $29 and $79 licences do not connect to Zapier, and you are back to the $99 a year subscription. The automation deals on the same marketplace are a separate question, covered in the Zapier alternatives actually available on AppSumo. Calendly's integration directory was not read for this article and is not compared here.
Who should pick TidyCal, and who should pay Calendly?
The solo operator who never charges through the page: TidyCal Individual Lifetime at $29. Ten calendars, unlimited booking types, meeting links generated for you, and no fee because nothing runs through Stripe.
The solo consultant who sells sessions through the page: price TidyCal Pro at $99 a year against Calendly Standard at $120. Pro is $21 a year less, removes the 1% fee, adds a custom domain and removes branding. Calendly Standard includes payments and branding removal in the $120 and is the link clients already recognise. The $29 deal is the wrong tier for this buyer unless bookings are small.
The four-person team: TidyCal Agency at $79 once against Calendly Teams at $768 a year. Unless lead qualification and routing is the reason you are buying, the arithmetic is one-sided. The 1% fee stays on Agency.
Anyone who wants text reminders: Calendly's pricing page does not list them; TidyCal lists them on Agency and Pro. Anyone who needs Zapier: TidyCal Pro, or Calendly. The lifetime tiers do not list it.
For a solopreneur building the rest of the stack around the booking link, the same buy-once-or-subscribe question comes up with task and project tools, and the trade-offs are laid out in the project management tools that fit a one-person business.
What this comparison did not do
No booking flow was run for this article. Nobody on this site set up a TidyCal page, connected a Stripe account, sent a Calendly invite or tested a reminder. Everything above comes from reading tidycal.com/pricing, calendly.com/pricing and the TidyCal listing and Calendly-alternatives collection on appsumo.com, all on 25 September 2026.
AppSumo deal prices and availability change. The $29 and $79 figures are the ones shown on 25 September 2026; a deal can sell out, be re-priced or return later, and a sold out deal may come back. Calendly's monthly figures were not captured, so do not read $10 and $16 as month-to-month prices. Check every number on the day you buy.
The short version
The $29 TidyCal deal against $120 a year for Calendly Standard is a real gap, and for a solo operator who does not charge through the booking page it is the whole story: take the $29. The finding the ranking pages miss is that $29 buys TidyCal's middle tier. TidyCal's own pricing page sells Pro at $12 a month or $99 a year, and only Pro removes the 1% platform fee on Stripe payments, lifts the ten-calendar cap, adds a custom domain, removes TidyCal branding and connects Zapier. At $10,000 of paid bookings a year the fee is $100 a year, so anyone selling sessions through the page should compare Pro at $99 with Calendly Standard at $120, not the $29 with anything. Teams are simpler: TidyCal Agency at $79 once against Calendly Teams at $768 a year for four seats, with the fee still attached. Calendly's page lists no SMS reminders; TidyCal's does. There is no universal winner. There is a fee column, and where you sit on it decides. All prices were read on 25 September 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Is TidyCal better than Calendly?
Neither wins everywhere. TidyCal is cheaper at every tier: $29 once for Individual, $79 once for Agency, or Pro at $99 a year, against Calendly Standard at $120 a year and Teams at $16 a seat a month billed yearly. Calendly Standard includes payment collection with no platform fee mentioned on its page, while TidyCal's $29 and $79 licences carry a 1% fee on Stripe payments that only Pro removes. Pick by whether you charge through the booking page.
How much does TidyCal cost?
Four prices on TidyCal's pricing page, read on 25 September 2026: Free at $0, Individual Lifetime at $29 once (list $144) and Agency Lifetime at $79 once (list $240), both sold through AppSumo, and Pro at $12 a month or $99 a year, sold by TidyCal directly. Free, Individual and Agency carry a 1% platform fee on Stripe payments; Pro carries none and is the only tier with unlimited calendars, a custom domain, branding removal and Zapier.
How much does Calendly cost per month?
Calendly's pricing page, read on 25 September 2026, defaults to yearly billing: Standard is $10 a seat a month and Teams is $16 a seat a month, both billed yearly, which is $120 a year for one Standard seat. The page shows "Save 17%" on Standard and "Save 20%" on Teams against monthly billing, so paying month to month costs that much more. The monthly dollar figures were not captured for this article.
Does TidyCal charge a fee on paid bookings?
Yes, on three of its four plans. TidyCal's pricing page lists a 1% platform fee on Stripe payments for Free, Individual Lifetime and Agency Lifetime, and none for Pro. On $10,000 of paid bookings a year that fee is $100. The $29 AppSumo deal is the Individual Lifetime tier, so buying it does not remove the fee; only Pro at $12 a month or $99 a year does.
Is the TidyCal AppSumo lifetime deal worth it?
For a solo operator who does not take payment through the booking page, yes: $29 once buys ten calendar connections, unlimited booking types, automatic meeting links and analytics, with a sixty-day money-back guarantee, rated 4.34 stars from 929 reviews on 25 September 2026. For someone selling sessions through the page, the 1% Stripe fee stays on the deal, so compare TidyCal Pro at $99 a year with Calendly Standard at $120 instead.
What is the difference between TidyCal Free and Calendly Free?
Calendly Free is "One event type" and "One calendar connection", per its pricing page. TidyCal Free is also one calendar connection, but its pricing page lists unlimited bookings and booking types, paid bookings, recurring and package bookings, your own booking page and translation, at "$0 Forever free", with a 1% platform fee on Stripe payments. For more than one meeting type without paying, TidyCal Free is the working option.
Does TidyCal have a custom domain and remove its branding?
Only on Pro. TidyCal's pricing page lists custom domain and no TidyCal branding under the Pro plan at $12 a month or $99 a year, not under the $29 or $79 lifetime tiers. The AppSumo deal page describes the Individual tier as including custom booking and branding, but the pricing page is the one that names the removal of TidyCal's own branding. Calendly removes its branding from Standard at $10 a seat a month billed yearly.
Does Calendly have SMS reminders?
Calendly's pricing page, read on 25 September 2026, does not list SMS reminders on any plan, so this article makes no claim about whether they exist elsewhere in the product. TidyCal's pricing page lists SMS reminders in the US and Canada on Agency Lifetime at $79 once and unlimited SMS reminders on Pro at $99 a year. TidyCal's page is the only one of the two that prices them.
Does TidyCal integrate with Zapier?
Only on Pro. The Pro card on TidyCal's pricing page reads "Advanced: adds Zoom, Teams, Zapier". The $29 Individual and $79 Agency lifetime tiers do not list Zapier. The two TidyCal pages also disagree on where Zoom lands: the pricing page puts automatic Zoom, Meet and Teams links on Individual, while the AppSumo deal page puts Zoom and Teams under Agency. Confirm with TidyCal before buying for one integration.
Can I get a refund on the TidyCal AppSumo deal?
The TidyCal deal page on AppSumo shows a sixty-day money-back guarantee, read on 25 September 2026. AppSumo's refund policy adds that "unredeemed or unused tools cannot be refunded outside our refund window", so an unused code past the window cannot be returned. Redeem the code the day you buy, run your real booking types and a test payment inside the window, and decide before it closes.
