AI Video Generator Lifetime Deals: Credits, Avatars and What $99 Once Really Buys
Quick answer: No AI video generator lifetime deal on AppSumo sells unlimited video. Each of the four deals live on 25 September 2026 is a monthly allowance that resets for as long as the product exists: Mootion 1,750 credits for $79 once, JoggAI five non-video credits and one custom avatar for $99, FlexClip 3,000 AI credits for $99, vidBoard 30 videos for $69. The four count in four different units, and no vendor publishes a minutes-per-credit conversion, so the only honest comparison is per job. For a talking-head video with your own avatar, JoggAI Tier 1 at $99 once sits against HeyGen Creator at $288 a year, or $864 over three years. Read the credit clause before paying.
Why "lifetime" describes the licence, not the video
AppSumo's help centre page "What is a Lifetime Deal?" puts it in one sentence: "Once you purchase and redeem a lifetime deal, you have access to that tool for the lifetime of the product." The word lifetime describes how long the licence lasts. It says nothing about how much you can make each month. That figure sits lower down the deal page, in the tier list, and on every AI video deal read on 25 September 2026 it is a monthly number.
This is not a trick by the vendors. It is the model AppSumo announced itself. Its blog post "How lifetime deals work in the new AI era", by Katie Weeks, published 4 September 2025, says: "Lifetime deals with unlimited AI sound great on paper, but this model can lead to slow tools, unclear limits, and unhappy users." The same post describes the replacement: "The lifetime deals we're known for now come with new payment structures for certain AI tools: credit bundles, annual refreshes, or an option to connect your own API key."
So the honest way to read an AI video lifetime deal is as a prepaid subscription with a fixed monthly quota and no renewal bill. That is still worth owning. It is a different thing from the "unlimited videos forever" framing most pages ranking for this query lean on.
The complication is the unit. Mootion counts "credits". JoggAI counts "non-video credits". FlexClip counts "AI credits". vidBoard counts "videos". None of the four publishes how many minutes of finished video a unit produces, and the subscription comparators split the same way: HeyGen prices in credits, Synthesia in minutes. Any article that lines the deals up in one column of minutes per month has invented the conversion. This one does not convert. It compares the deals per job, against the subscription you would otherwise pay for that job. No video was rendered for this article; every figure below was read from the deal pages and pricing pages on 25 September 2026.
What the four deals gave at tier one on 25 September 2026
All four deals carry the Select badge, whose text on every deal page reads "Carefully selected by AppSumo for quality, performance, and support." All four showed a sixty-day refund window on the day. Where a cell says "not published", the deal page gave no figure. Deal prices and availability change weekly on AppSumo, a sold out deal can return, and the prices here are the ones read on 25 September 2026.
| Deal | Tier 1 price (list) | Monthly allowance, vendor's unit | Custom avatars and max length | Rating (reviews) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mootion | $79 ($144) | 1,750 credits | None listed; length not published; 1080p, no watermark | 3.82 (152) |
| JoggAI | $99 ($432) | 5 non-video credits | 1 custom avatar; 3-minute videos; 1 concurrent process | 4.25 (347) |
| FlexClip | $99 ($600) | 3,000 AI credits | None listed; unlimited length; 1080p downloads | 4.62 (501) |
| vidBoard | $69 ($250) | 30 videos | No custom avatar, no voice cloning; length not published | 4.62 (104) |
Two things stand out before any arithmetic. The struck-through list prices are the vendors' own subscription figures, so "$432" on JoggAI is a claim about what a year of JoggAI would otherwise cost, not a measure of the deal's value to you. And the deal with the biggest allowance number, FlexClip at 3,000, is an editor whose AI credits are a side feature, while the deal with the smallest, JoggAI at five, is the only one with a custom avatar at tier one. The size of the number tells you nothing until you know what one unit buys.
The higher tiers matter for some jobs and are quoted where they do. In brief: Mootion sells 3,500 credits at $139, 8,000 at $299 with 50,000-character prompts, and 16,000 at $499. JoggAI moves to 10 credits, three avatars and five-minute videos at $299, and 15 credits, five avatars, fifteen-minute videos and two concurrent processes at $599. FlexClip Plan 2 at $198 brings 4K, unlimited stock clips, 100 GB and 7,000 credits; Plan 3 at $297 brings 12,000. vidBoard Tier 2 at $159 brings 300 videos, two custom avatars and voice cloning; Tier 3 at $319 brings 800 videos, six avatars and the option to bring your own key, the only such option on any of the four deals and the escape hatch AppSumo's blog described for tools whose bundled credits run short.
What HeyGen and Synthesia charge for the same jobs
The deals only mean something against the subscription you would otherwise pay. HeyGen and Synthesia are the two most buyers compare against, and their pricing pages were read on 25 September 2026. Note the units: HeyGen's pricing page sells credits and caps video length per plan; Synthesia's pricing page sells minutes per year on paid plans.
| Plan | Price | Allowance | Max video length | Custom avatars |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HeyGen Free | $0 | "3 videos per month" | 1 minute, watermarked | Not published |
| HeyGen Creator | $29 monthly, or $24 a month billed annually | 600 credits a month | 30 minutes, 1080p, no watermark | Not published |
| HeyGen Pro | $49 monthly | 1,000 credits a month | 4K; length not published | Not published |
| HeyGen Business | $149 a month plus $20 per extra seat | 1,500 credits a month | 60 minutes | 5 |
| Synthesia Basic | Free | "10 mins of video / month", "1,200 credits/mo" | Not published | Not published |
| Synthesia Starter | $29 monthly, or $18 a month billed yearly | 120 minutes a year | Not published | Not published |
| Synthesia Creator | $89 monthly, or $64 a month billed yearly | 360 minutes a year | Not published | Not published |
Both vendors reserve the open-ended product for Enterprise. HeyGen's Enterprise card says "No maximum video duration" and Synthesia's says "Unlimited minutes of video", each at custom pricing. That is where "unlimited" lives in this market: on a sales call, not on a $99 deal page. HeyGen Pro's annual price is shown as an approximation, so it is not quoted here.
Synthesia is the only vendor here that prices a paid plan in minutes, which gives the one clean per-minute figure available: Starter billed yearly is $18 a month, $216 a year for 120 minutes, which is $1.80 a minute. Its free plan lists both "10 mins of video / month" and "1,200 credits/mo", but that ratio is Synthesia's accounting for its own free tier. It says nothing about what a Mootion or HeyGen credit buys, so do not carry it across.
Job one: a talking-head video with your own face
This is the job most buyers have in mind, and where the per-job comparison is sharpest. JoggAI Tier 1 gives one custom avatar, videos up to three minutes, five non-video credits a month and one concurrent process, for $99 once. HeyGen Creator gives 600 credits a month and videos up to thirty minutes at 1080p for $24 a month billed annually: $288 a year, $864 over three years. Whether Creator includes a custom avatar is not published on the card read; HeyGen lists five custom avatars on Business at $149 a month.
Two limits on the JoggAI deal are hard and one is soft. The three-minute cap is hard. The single concurrent process is hard: one render at a time. The five non-video credits are soft, because JoggAI does not publish what one buys, so the number that decides the purchase is unknown until you use the tool. That is the whole case for redeeming on day one of the refund window, covered below. The length cap sorts most buyers on its own. A practice explainer or product walkthrough runs under three minutes and fits. A recorded lecture does not, and JoggAI's ladder charges $299 for a five-minute cap and $599 for fifteen minutes. At $599 once the deal is still cheaper than HeyGen Creator past year three, but you are then betting $599 on a tool whose page notes "minor issues with lip-syncing" in its review summary.
vidBoard is the other avatar deal, and its tier one is not an own-face product: $69 buys 30 videos a month with stock avatars and no voice cloning. Your face and voice arrive at Tier 2, $159 once, with two custom avatars and 300 videos a month. That tier is the closest thing on the list to a volume avatar plan, and its unit, whole videos, is at least something you can count without a conversion table.
Job two: a faceless video from a script
If nobody's face is in the video, the avatar column stops mattering. Mootion Tier 1 at $79 once gives 1,750 credits a month, a 20,000-character prompt limit, 1080p output and no watermark, and its page names Veo 3 and Seedance 2.0 among its premium models. vidBoard Tier 1 at $69 once gives 30 finished videos a month fronted by stock avatars. The subscription benchmark is Synthesia Starter at $216 a year for 120 minutes, the $1.80-a-minute figure above.
Mootion cannot be placed against that benchmark in minutes, because it publishes no minutes-per-credit figure, and premium models presumably draw credits at their own rates, which the page also does not publish. The honest statement is this: $79 once against $216 a year is the price gap, and the allowance gap is unknown until you render your own scripts and read the counter. vidBoard can at least be counted: if your calendar says eight videos a month, 30 a month tells you exactly where you stand.
One thing no deal solves is the script. A faceless video is only as good as the text it reads, and most of the working time goes into writing, not rendering. The tools that do that part well are compared in the roundup of AI writing tools for bloggers, and none of them is on this list.
Transparency note: CriticNest has no affiliate or commercial relationship with AppSumo, HeyGen, Synthesia, Mootion, JoggAI, FlexClip or vidBoard, and has not joined AppSumo's affiliate program as of 25 September 2026. Nothing on this page is a paid placement. Every AppSumo and vendor link in this article is a plain link with no tracking parameter; if that changes, the disclosure will move to the top of this article. Every price, allowance and quotation was read on AppSumo's deal pages, its help centre and the vendors' own pricing pages on 25 September 2026, and where a vendor publishes no figure this article says so rather than estimating one.
Job three: editing footage you already have
FlexClip sits on the AI video deal lists because it has AI features, but it is an editor first. Plan 1 at $99 once, read on 25 September 2026, gives 1080p downloads, unlimited video length, a brand kit, 30 GB of storage, 5 stock clips per project and 3,000 AI credits a month. The page promises "All future Plus (Tier 1) and Business (Tiers 2&3) Plan updates", the clause to hold the vendor to if the editor changes shape.
The arithmetic that gets quoted is FlexClip Plan 1 at $99 once against HeyGen Creator's $288 first year: 34% of one year. It is a true number and a slightly misleading one, because the two tools do different jobs. HeyGen renders an avatar reading a script; FlexClip cuts, captions and brands footage you shot. If your work is the second kind, FlexClip's 3,000 credits are the least important line on its deal page and the unlimited length is the most important one. No other deal here gives unlimited length at tier one. If your work is the first kind, FlexClip is not the comparison, and buying it for the biggest credit number on the collection is exactly the mistake the unit problem produces.
The credit clause to read before you pay for Veo 3
AppSumo's blog post from September 2025 contains the sentence that should sit next to every AI deal page: "To keep deals sustainable as models evolve, some lifetime offers lock credits to the models available at launch, or to future models with similar costs." Read plainly, a deal that names Veo 3 today may or may not give you the model that replaces it, and if it does, that model may draw more credits per render. The blog says "some" offers do this, and the deal pages read on 25 September 2026 do not state which side of that line each tool sits on.
That is a reason to ask before buying, in the Q&A tab on the deal page, where the vendor answers in public and the answer stays attached to the listing. Four questions cover it. What does one credit, one non-video credit or one video buy, in minutes or seconds of finished output at default settings? Which models are included, and do premium models draw credits at a different rate? If a newer model is added, is it covered by the deal or sold as a top-up? Do unused credits roll over, or does the allowance reset each month? Written answers are worth more than any review score, because the score describes the tool as it was for earlier buyers and the answers describe the terms you are about to accept. If a vendor will not answer the first question, the allowance is not knowable and the deal is a bet on a number.
What the sixty-day window and We Got Your Back cover
Every one of the four deals showed a sixty-day refund window on 25 September 2026. AppSumo's Refund Policy describes a "full refund of the purchase price within the timeframe stated on the deal page" and adds the rule most buyers miss: "unredeemed or unused tools cannot be refunded outside our refund window". A code that sits in your account past the window is not refundable because you never got round to it. The lifetime deal help page calls the window "the only time that your purchase is 100% protected."
After the window, the protection changes from a refund to a store credit. AppSumo's We Got Your Back page states: "We Got Your Back provides a 100% credit to Plus customers and a 50% credit to non-Plus customers whenever a Select tool shuts down during the purchase's Coverage Period." All four video deals are Select, so all four are covered. For an ordinary buyer the coverage period is twelve months from purchase, and "Store credits are issued as AppSumo Credits, which are not exchangeable for cash." Claims must be emailed within thirty days of the closure announcement.
Worked through on JoggAI Tier 1: if the tool closed in month nine, a non-Plus buyer would receive half of the $99 paid, as AppSumo credit, not $99 back to a card. A Plus member would receive the full $99 as credit. Whether the $99-a-year membership is worth carrying for that difference depends on how much you buy, and the break-even is worked out in the AppSumo Plus analysis. What the marketplace does and does not stand behind, tier by tier, is covered in the reading of AppSumo's refund and shutdown terms, and this article will not repeat it.
Who should stay on a subscription
The lifetime deal loses on any job where volume, length or model currency matters more than price. Client-facing video at volume is the clearest case. A studio producing avatar videos for several clients a month runs into JoggAI's single concurrent process and three-minute cap, and into a monthly allowance nobody outside the vendor can define. HeyGen Business at $149 a month with five custom avatars and sixty-minute videos, or an Enterprise plan with "No maximum video duration", is priced for that buyer. The monthly bill is the cost of not hitting a wall mid-project.
Model currency is the second case. If your work depends on the newest model, the launch-era lock the AppSumo blog describes is a real risk, and a subscription vendor has every incentive to keep you current. Length is the third. Anything over fifteen minutes is outside every avatar deal here at any tier, and only FlexClip offers unlimited length, for editing rather than generation. Resolution is smaller but real: Mootion and FlexClip Plan 1 output 1080p, FlexClip Plan 2 outputs 4K, and JoggAI's and vidBoard's tier summaries published none. HeyGen publishes 4K from Pro at $49 a month.
Who the deals fit: a solo operator or small practice making short videos for its own site and channels, at a pace where a monthly allowance in the low tens of renders is enough, who can live with the model that ships today. For that buyer, $69 to $99 once against $288 a year is the right shape of bet, provided the sixty days are used properly.
How to use the sixty days
The refund window is the only period in which the unit problem can be solved, because it is the only period in which you can render your own jobs and read the counter without risk. Redeem the code on the day you buy, not the day you find time. Write down the three videos you would actually make in a normal month before you render anything. Make them in the first week at your real settings: your avatar, your length, your resolution, the model you want. Then read the credit balance and note what those three jobs consumed.
That number, multiplied out to a month, is the conversion the vendor did not publish, and it is specific to your work. If three normal jobs used a fifth of the allowance, the deal covers you with room. If they used all of it, the deal is a one-week-a-month tool and the subscription is cheaper per finished video whatever the sticker says. Decide by day forty-five, which leaves the refund to process inside the window rather than at its edge.
Timing matters more if you buy during a sale, because the window then runs across the holidays. How the sale calendar interacts with the refund calendar is worked through in the account of how AppSumo's drops worked in 2025. The rule is the same in any month: the day you buy is the day the test starts. One caveat on everything above: AppSumo deals change weekly, prices step up between batches, deals sell out and sometimes come back. Every price here is the one read on 25 September 2026, and the deal page on the day you read this is the only version that binds anyone.
The short version
Every AI video generator lifetime deal on AppSumo is a monthly allowance with no renewal bill, not unlimited video. On 25 September 2026 the four live deals were Mootion at $79 once for 1,750 credits, JoggAI at $99 for five non-video credits and one custom avatar, FlexClip at $99 for 3,000 AI credits inside an editor with unlimited length, and vidBoard at $69 for 30 videos. Four units, no conversions published, so rank nothing by the size of the number. Decide by job: an own-face talking head under three minutes points at JoggAI against HeyGen Creator's $288 a year and $864 over three years; a faceless script video points at Mootion or vidBoard against Synthesia Starter's $216 a year for 120 minutes; editing your own footage points at FlexClip alone. Ask in the Q&A tab what one credit buys and whether the credits follow the model. Then redeem on day one, render three real jobs in week one, read the counter, and decide by day forty-five. Every deal here is Select, so a shutdown inside twelve months returns half the price as credit, or all of it for Plus members.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a HeyGen lifetime deal?
Not on HeyGen's own pricing page, which on 25 September 2026 sold only subscriptions: Free, Creator at $29 a month or $24 a month billed annually, Pro at $49 a month, Business at $149 a month plus $20 per extra seat, and Enterprise at custom pricing. None of the four AI video deals read on AppSumo that day was HeyGen. The deals competing with it for avatar video are JoggAI at $99 once and vidBoard from $69 once, each with a monthly allowance in its own unit.
What is the best AI video generator lifetime deal on AppSumo?
There is no single answer, because the four live deals count in four different units and none publishes a minutes-per-credit conversion, so ranking them by allowance is meaningless. Choose by job. Own-face talking heads under three minutes: JoggAI Tier 1 at $99 once. Volume avatar video with your own face: vidBoard Tier 2 at $159 once for 300 videos a month. Faceless generated video: Mootion at $79 once. Editing footage you already have: FlexClip at $99 once. Prices read on 25 September 2026.
Is the JoggAI AppSumo deal worth it?
For short own-face videos it is the cheapest route on the list: $99 once for one custom avatar, three-minute videos, five non-video credits a month and one render at a time, against HeyGen Creator at $288 a year. It is not worth it if you need videos over three minutes, parallel renders or a defined monthly quota, because JoggAI does not publish what one non-video credit buys. Its AppSumo review summary notes "minor issues with lip-syncing", and the deal carried a sixty-day refund window on 25 September 2026.
What does the FlexClip lifetime deal include?
Plan 1 at $99 once, read on 25 September 2026, includes 1080p downloads, unlimited video length, a brand kit, 30 GB of storage, 5 stock clips per project and 3,000 AI credits a month. Plan 2 at $198 adds 4K, unlimited stock clips, 100 GB and 7,000 credits; Plan 3 at $297 gives 12,000 credits. The page promises "All future Plus (Tier 1) and Business (Tiers 2&3) Plan updates". FlexClip is an editor first; the AI credits are a secondary feature.
How many videos can you make with Mootion's 1,750 credits a month?
Mootion does not publish it. The Tier 1 deal page read on 25 September 2026 lists 1,750 credits a month, a 20,000-character prompt limit, 1080p output and no watermark, and names Veo 3 and Seedance 2.0 as premium models, but gives no credits-per-minute or credits-per-video figure. The only way to learn the number for your own work is to redeem inside the sixty-day refund window, render your normal jobs at your normal settings, and read the credit balance.
Does the vidBoard lifetime deal include a custom avatar?
Not at Tier 1. The $69 tier read on 25 September 2026 gives 30 videos a month with no custom avatar and no voice cloning. Custom avatars start at Tier 2, $159 once, with two custom avatars, voice cloning and 300 videos a month. Tier 3 at $319 gives six avatars, 800 videos and the option to bring your own key; Tier 4 at $499 gives twelve avatars and 1,500 videos. vidBoard's unit is whole videos, the only allowance on the list that needs no conversion.
Do AppSumo lifetime deals include unlimited AI credits?
No. AppSumo's own blog post of 4 September 2025 says "Lifetime deals with unlimited AI sound great on paper, but this model can lead to slow tools, unclear limits, and unhappy users", and that AI deals now come with "credit bundles, annual refreshes, or an option to connect your own API key." Every AI video deal live on 25 September 2026 listed a monthly allowance. The blog also says some offers "lock credits to the models available at launch, or to future models with similar costs", the clause to ask about before buying.
Can I get a refund on an AI video lifetime deal from AppSumo?
Within the window stated on the deal page, yes. All four AI video deals read on 25 September 2026 showed a sixty-day window, and AppSumo's Refund Policy describes a "full refund of the purchase price within the timeframe stated on the deal page". The rule that catches people is that "unredeemed or unused tools cannot be refunded outside our refund window", so a code you never redeemed is not refundable once the window closes. Card refunds post in five to ten business days; AppSumo credits return at once.
What happens if the video tool shuts down after I buy?
If the deal was Select, as all four AI video deals were on 25 September 2026, AppSumo's We Got Your Back page states it "provides a 100% credit to Plus customers and a 50% credit to non-Plus customers whenever a Select tool shuts down during the purchase's Coverage Period." The period is twelve months from purchase for ordinary buyers, the credit is issued as AppSumo Credits that are not exchangeable for cash, and the claim must be emailed within thirty days of the closure announcement. Radar-tier deals carry no such cover.
Is an AI video lifetime deal cheaper than HeyGen over three years?
On price alone, yes: HeyGen Creator billed annually is $24 a month, $288 a year and $864 over three years, against JoggAI Tier 1 at $99 once or vidBoard Tier 1 at $69 once, read on 25 September 2026. On output the answer is unknown, because HeyGen's 600 credits, JoggAI's five non-video credits and vidBoard's 30 videos are three different units with no published conversion. The deal wins if its monthly allowance covers your real jobs, which only rendering them inside the refund window can show.
